A newly launched e-learning language provider, Study Twi, has seen a huge demand in the diaspora following the Covid-19 pandemic that shook global lives and businesses.
According to a media release copied to the Ghana News Network,the online Twi lessons has since been in request by young Ghanaians living in the UK, America, Germany, Australia, Italy, and The Netherlands among others.
“Digital learning is the quickest growing market in the education industry, with a whopping 900 per cent growth since 2000, according to KPMG.
Due to Ghana’s success in ‘The Year of Return,’ Study Twi collaborated with Afrochella to provide fun and essential Twi phrases for the festival, which reached over 12,000 people and gained hundreds of downloads”, the statement said.
It continued that the call for more Black men and women to dominate leadership spaces has also caused many to support black owned businesses. For this reason, people in the diaspora looking to do business with Ghanaian companies are encouraged to take up courses to enable them speak the local language.
It says a survey carried out on its students revealed that 96 per cent of Study Twi learners say they can recognize when someone is speaking Twi. “Learning Twi can also boost career prospects, employment opportunities and client acquisition within the Ghanaian markets”. Thus, making it ideal for those in the diaspora who are interested in Ghanaian culture and wish to learn for either personal, business or travel purposes.
Study Twi’s online Twi lessons are suitable for all ages and backgrounds. 70 per cent of Study Twi learners say they would like to improve both their speaking and listening skills through online Twi lessons.
The e-learning platform was founded in October 2019 with an objective to encourage and inspire both Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians around the world to learn Twi through a range of free resources and online lessons. They have a fun, quick and easy approach to language learning to improve skills while increasing knowledge on Ghana’s vibrant culture & etiquette.
